October brings Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Every 96 minutes a domestic violence assault is reported to police, even more occurrences go unreported each day. According to the National Institute on Justice, 1 in every 4 women will be abused by a partner in her lifetime. Even more startling, Nevada has the highest rate of domestic violence related homicides in four of the last five years.
